Little Miss Lumbee 2011-2012
Greetings and salutations to
the most beautiful people I know…the Lumbee people. I am Calista Nicole Deal,
and I am so honored to be your Little Miss Lumbee Ambassador for the next
year. I am already having so much fun. This is truly a dream come true! I am
so thankful to God for his plans for me, for they are plans to prosper and not
to harm me, and a plan to give me a hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).
I am a 4th grade student at Pembroke Elementary
School… Home of the Bees, where our motto is “Bee all you can bee”! I hope to
have another successful academic year by making all A’s. I like to sing and
dance and I love playing with my baby dolls. I love singing with my brother
and sisters; Dylan, Kaitlyn and Keely. We sing at lots of churches, traveling
from Florida to New York! I am so thankful for my family, and my parents for
all that they do for me. I am a member at New Covenant Family Worship Center
and sing in the children’s choir. My family and I participate in one of our
many church programs called the “GREAT Outreach” program. We visit several
communities in Pembroke and provide hot meals each month. I get to meet a lot
of people in our community and it is very humbling to give to others. I know
that I will be a busy little girl and I look forward to fulfilling all my
duties as an ambassador.
I want to personally thank the communities of
people who have welcomed and embraced me as the new Little Miss Lumbee. There
are so many people who have prayed for me, offered monetary support, or gave
me an encouraging word while preparing for the pageant, and I would like to
say Thank You. To Mrs. Ivette, my dress is awesome! My family and I love you
so much. Ms. Natalie Ratchford, my hair and make-up was the bomb! People are
still telling me that I looked just like Dorothy! Ms. Rebecca, I hope I made
you proud, many thanks to you. To all my sponsors, I pray that God would
richly bless your lives and businesses. I am so blessed, and I thank the Lord
for the ability and the talent that He has given me and my family. I also want
to thank the Lumbee people and LRDA for giving me the chance of a lifetime and
I’m indulging in every minute of it! I will be a positive role model for my
peers and elders with the insight that God allowed me to be Little Miss Lumbee
2011-2012 for such a time as this!
